Maltese
The Maltese is a lovable companion dog island that was developed on the island nation of Malta located in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a toy breed with a curled tail, black nose, and large brown eyes. However, this little breed’s most stunning feature is its pure white coat. The Maltese’s coat is thick, shiny, and typically long enough to touch the ground.
Bichon Frise
The Bichon Frise has its origins in the Canary Islands and was later developed in France. It is a small white puffy dog breed with a lively personality that has black nose and dark round eyes. The breed has a head that is slightly rounded and a tail that is carried over its back. The Bichon Frise has a silky coat that is totally white in color and considered to be hypoallergenic.
Bull Terrier
The Bull Terrier was created in England for the purpose of dog fighting. It has a unique elongated head that can’t be mistaken for any other breed. The breed’s s eyes are small and triangular in shape while the body is robust and muscular. The Bull Terrier coat is made up of short hard hair. The coat may be solid white or white with markings. It does come in several other colors as well.
Great Pyrenees
The Great Pyrenees originated in the Pyrenees Mountains between the countries of France and Spain. This large white dog breed was created to protect sheep from dangerous predators such as wolves.
It is a strong and powerful-looking dog that has a head that is often described as looking like that of a bear. The Great Pyrenees has a dense coat that can be totally white or white with markings that are tan, badger, gray, or reddish-brown.
West Highland White Terrier
The West Highland White Terrier is a Scottish dog breed. While today it normally functions as a companion, it was originally created to hunt rodents. It is a small yet sturdy dog with well-muscled legs and upright pointy ears. The coat is always pure white in color. Unlike many other white dog breeds, the coat of the West Highland White Terrier is hard and rough.
Samoyed
The Samoyed was created in Siberia. It was used to pull the sleds of the semi-nomadic Samoyede people. This snow-white dog breed has a wedge-shaped head and erect ears. Its tail is carried over the top of its back. The Samoyed has a highly attractive coat that is also thick in order to keep the dog warm even in sub-freezing conditions.
Kuvasz
The Kuvasz is considered to be an ancient breed. It originated in Hungary where it was used as a livestock guardian and even a royal guard dog. This is a large and muscular canine with a, particularly well-proportioned head.
Its coat is totally white in color which helped shepherds to easily distinguish it from predators such as wolves. The Kuvasz coat is dense and several inches long on the body but shorter on the head and feet of the dog.
Havanese
The Havanese is a lap dog. It was created in Cuba, where it is the national dog. This small breed has a body that is longer than it is tall. It has a plumed tail that is carried up over the top of its back.
Because the breed’s front legs are slightly shorter than its back legs, it gives the dog a unique and springy gait. The Havanese coat is long and silky. And while the original Havanese dogs were all-white in color, nowadays it’s acceptable for the coat to be any color.
Japanese Spitz
The Japanese Spitz is a companion dog that originated in Japan. This is a small to medium size breed that has a pointy muzzle and small triangular ears. Like most spitz-type dogs it also has a tail that curls over its back.
The Japanese Spitz’s stunning all-white coat is contrasted by its black eyes, nails, and paw pads. The coat is thick with long hair. This Japanese white dog breed also has a unique tuft of longer hair around the neck area (similar to a mane) that rests on the back.
Berger Blanc Suisse
The Berger Blanc Suisse is also known as the White Swiss Shepherd. It was created in Switzerland by using imported White Shepherds from the United States and Canada. The breed can be used for herding, protection, search and rescue, along with many other jobs, services, and dog sports.
This is a medium-sized dog that has erect ears, a powerful build, and a bushy saber-shaped tail. Despite being one of the pure white dog breeds, its skin is actually dark in pigmentation. The Berger Blanc Suisse’s white double coat is dense and hard. The coat comes in two different lengths it may either be medium or long.
